The Makers

FanCraft is a small family-run studio in Shuniah, Ontario, just outside Thunder Bay. No corporation, no staff directory: just two fans who make things, with the occasional assist from the next generation. We're fans first, and the stories and worlds we love are the reason this studio exists.

We got tired of seeing great fandoms represented by loud, cheap merchandise nobody would wear to work or out with friends. So we started making the pieces we wanted to own: subtle, well-made, fun to wear. FanCraft™ turns "geek" from stigma into status symbol.

What We Believe

Fandom is sophisticated. The stories we love are complex and meaningful. The pieces that celebrate them should match.
If you know, you know. Fellow fans catch the reference. Everyone else just sees a clean, well-made piece. That is the Nerd Nouveau® approach.
Fill the gap. We make the things nobody else was making, not more of what's already everywhere. Stuff you want but can't find: that's the shop.
Good over cheap. We're not claiming heirloom treasure. We just refuse to make junk: materials we'd buy ourselves, every time.
Pride, not apology. We don't apologize for being fans. We make things worthy of the passion.

The Workshop

No Limits on the Medium

We'll make your fandom in whatever material serves it best, and we keep adding tools to the bench. Today that means laser-etched stainless steel jewelry and accessories, etched glassware, bleach-art tees, 3D-printed pieces, custom decals, and now full-colour work in nearly any size.

We experiment constantly. Full-colour UV printing is this year's experiment, bringing colour where only black etching used to live. Next up: laser-cut and welded metal, for shapes we couldn't make before. Fewer obstacles between idea and product.

From the Same Bench

Making things is kind of our whole deal. This site runs on FolioGraphic, our own home-built platform (no big-box store templates), and we also produce Entangled At A Distance, an original science-fiction audio drama.
